그리스도인은 본질적으로 하나님 나라에 속한 하나님 나라의 백성입니다. 그러면서도 이 세상나라가운데서 살고 있습니다. 말하자면 이중국적 소유 자라고 말할 수 있습니다. 우리는 이 두 나라의 법 모두를 지킬것을 요구 받고 있습니다. 그렇다면 성경은 이 두가지 법 사이에 서 있는 하나님의 백성에게 어떻게 할 것을 가르치고 있는지를 알아야 하겠습니다. 첫째로 국가의 권세의 근원은 하나님에게서 나온것입니다. 성경은 "권세는 하나님께로 나지 않음이 없나니 모든 권세는 다 하나님의 정하신 바라"고 말씀합니다. 국가의 권세는 국민에게서 나온 것이 아닙니 다. 대통령에게서 나온 것도 아닙니다. 국가 자체가 권세를 가지고 있는 것도 아닙니다. 만물의 주권자이신 하나님에게서 나온 것입니다. 하나님이 교회의 주권자이신것과 마찬가지로 국가의 주권자이십니다. 교회가 하나님 의 주권하에 있는 것처럼 국가도 하나님의 주권하에 있어야 합니다....

Dealing with the subtle signs of sexual attraction. There's a mystique about spiritual ministry that some people find attractive. Their attitude toward the pastor can border on infatuation. It's flattering for a male pastor, who perhaps is nursing fresh wounds from the last board meeting, to receive attention from an attractive woman who obviously admires him and hangs on his every word. Regularly rehearsing the consequences. I met with a man who had been a leader in a Christian organization until he fell into immorality. I asked him, "What could have been done to prevent this?" He paused for only a moment, then said with haunting pain and precision, "If only I had really known, really thought through, what it would cost me and my family and my Lord, I honestly believe I never would have done it."
