Dealing with the subtle signs of sexual attraction. There's a mystique about spiritual ministry that some people find attractive. Their attitude toward the pastor can border on infatuation. It's flattering for a male pastor, who perhaps is nursing fresh wounds from the last board meeting, to receive attention from an attractive woman who obviously admires him and hangs on his every word. (The deaconsjumped on his every word.) Often the woman's husband is spiritually dead or weak. Finding him unworthy of her respect, she transfers her affection to this wonderfully spiritual man, her pastor. This is usually unconscious and therefore all the more dangerous. Regularly rehearsing the consequences. I met with a man who had been a leader in a Christian organization until he fell into immorality. I asked him, "What could have been done to prevent this?" He paused for only a moment, then said with haunting pain and precision, "If only I had really known, really thought through, what it would cost me and my family and my Lord, I honestly believe I never would have done it." In the wake of several Christian leaders' falling into immorality, a co-pastor and I developed a list of specific consequences that would result from our immorality. 감사의 철학

제2차 세계대전 후 일본 해군장교 가와가미 기이치 씨가 고국으로 돌아왔다. 그러나 일본의 현실은 차마 눈을 뜨고 볼 수 없을 정도로 피폐해져 있었다. 그는 매일 불평과 불만의 세월을 보냈다. 그런데 이런 생활이 계속되자 그의 몸이 굳어져 움직일 수가 없었다. 정신과 의사인 후치다 씨는 그에게 이런 처방을 내렸다. 국가 권세에 대한 성도 자세 01

그리스도인은 본질적으로 하나님 나라에 속한 하나님 나라의 백성입니다. 그러면서도 이 세상나라가운데서 살고 있습니다. 말하자면 이중국적 소유 자라고 말할 수 있습니다. 우리는 이 두 나라의 법 모두를 지킬것을 요구 받고 있습니다. 그렇다면 성경은 이 두가지 법 사이에 서 있는 하나님의 백성에게 어떻게 할 것을 가르치고 있는지를 알아야 하겠습니다. 첫째로 국가의 권세의 근원은 하나님에게서 나온것입니다. 성경은 "권세는 하나님께로 나지 않음이 없나니 모든 권세는 다 하나님의 정하신 바라"고 말씀합니다. 국가의 권세는 국민에게서 나온 것이 아닙니 다. 대통령에게서 나온 것도 아닙니다. 국가 자체가 권세를 가지고 있는 것도 아닙니다. 만물의 주권자이신 하나님에게서 나온 것입니다. 하나님이 교회의 주권자이신것과 마찬가지로 국가의 주권자이십니다. 교회가 하나님 의 주권하에 있는 것처럼 국가도 하나님의 주권하에 있어야 합니다....

우리 사회는 이런 점에서 수많은 문제를 안고 있다고 봅니다. 국가가 불의한 법을 만들어서 불의하게 사용하거나 정당한 법을 만들엇더라도 그것을 불의하게 사용하는 사회라고 한다면 그 국민은 하나님앞에서 도무지 복받는 국민이 될 수 없습니다. 그것은 하나님의 뜻을 거역하는 국가이기 때문입니다. 국가에 권세자들을 세우신 또 하나의 이유는 악을 억제하고 악을 징벌하기 위한것입니다. 그걸위해서 권세자들에게 `칼'을 주셨습니다. 힘을 주셨다는 말입니다. 권세를 주셨습니다/ 국가의 권력은 악을 억제하고 이미 저질러진 악을 징벌하는데 사용되어져야 합니다. *17세기 영국의 철학자인 토마스 홉스는 이런 말을 했습니다. `인간은 자연상태로 나두면 인간은 늑대가 된다'. 인간이 자기 마음대로 살도록 방치한다면 약육강식의 세상이 된다는 것입니다. 성경은 인간의 부패성을 적나라하게 고발하고 있습니다. 인간이야말로 `만물보다 심히 부패하고...
