THE HCC YOUTH GROUP CONSTITUTION
SECTION 1. BY LAW
item 1. We shall base our faith on the traditional Westminster's biblical point of view.
item 2. Our main purpose is to be the light and salt of the world, guided by the new reformational faith.
item 3. The following shall be our guidelines:
3.1 Spreading God’s words to our neighbors and aid Korean-American churches with the same point of view.
3.2 Spreading God's words to the world and aid world churches with the same point of view.
item 4. The following are our main objectives:
4.1 God-centered life
4.2 Bible-centered life
4.3 Church-centered life
SECTION 2. YOUTH GROUP TITLE
item 5. Our group shall be called the Heart of Christ Church Youth Group (Here and on, it shall be called the youth group).
item 6. The purpose of this youth group is to do the Lord a work based on the standard of the bylaw. The group adheres to the Christian faith, which is biblical and gospel-oriented, and promotes education, service, and mission. The goal is in three-fold: (1) soul-saving, (2) soul-shepherding, (3) soul-sending.
SECTION 3. MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
item 7. Youth group shall have 7th-12th graders as its members, and only for those who have shown willingness to participate in the youth group activities and have participated in the youth group for the last six months before the election.
item 8. Youth group members shall have the right to speak, vote, and to be voted as one of the cabinet members.
item 9. Youth group members shall keep the Lord's Day, give offerings to the Lord, participate in all the activities that were agreed upon during the monthly meeting.
SECTION 4. STUDENT COUNCIL
iten 10. The candidate for the cabinet must be baptized and have participated in the youth group activites including the Bible study at least during the period of the last six monthes before the election.
item 11. Youth group's cabinet members shall consist one president, one vice president, one general secretary, one treasurer, and one secretary.
iten 12. The folotting shall be the duties of the respective cabinet members:
12.1 President: The president shall represent the youth group and be a chair person on any youth group meetings.
12.2 Vice President: The vice president shall aid the president and shall take over all the duties of the president in case of his/her absence. He/She shall also oversee the representatives.
12.3 General Secretary: The general secretary shall lead the group activities and shall take over all the duties of the president in case of president's and vice president's absence. He/She shall also oversee the activity managers.
12.4 Treasurer: The treasurer shall control all the fiscal matters of the youth group.
12.5 Secretary: The secretary shall keep all the official youth group records.
item 13. The youth group shall have the following activity groups and their respective activities are as follows:
13.1 Worship: This group shall coordinate all the matters involving the worship service.
13.2 Music: This group shall coordinate all the musical events and activities of the youth group.
13.3 Fellowship: This group shall coordinate all the youth group fellowship activities.
13.4 Publishing: This group shall coordinate and keep all the published material of the youth group.
13.5 Communication: This group shall coordinate all matters concerning communications, advertisements, and promotions.
item 14. The youth group shall have the following representatives who represent their class:
14.1 7th & 8th: This class shall have one representative.
14.2 9th & 10th: This class shall have one representative.
14.3 11th & 12th: This class shall have one representative.
14.4 The term shall be six months.
SECTION 5. ELECTION AND TERMS
item 15. The youth group's election procedures are as follows:
15.1 Presidential candidates must receive first and second nomination. The presidential candidate shall be chosen for the next term if he/she receives 2/3 of the attending votes.
15.2 Run off shall be held if needed and the highest voter getter shall be chosen as the youth group president for the next term.
15.3 Other cabinet officers shall be chosen by the similar method, except it requires majority of the attending votes, rather than 2/3.
15.4 All the activity managers for the new term shall be chosen by the newly elected cabinet members.
15.5 All the representatives shall be appointed by the vice president.
item 16. All the cabinet members and group activity manager's term shall be one school year and they can be re-elected and hold up to two terms.
item 17. If an officer resigns with a legitimate reason, then the above procedures will be followed in an emergency election.
SECTION 6. GENERAL MEETINGS
item 18. The youth group shall have the following meetings*
18.1 General Election: General election shall be held on the first Sunday of August and requires 2/3 of the youth group member’s attendance.
18.2 Emergency Election: Emergency election shall be held on a need basis with the consent of the majority of the cabinet members.
18.3 Monthly Meeting: Monthly meeting shall be held on the first Sunday of each month and shall report the previous month's activities and discuss the upcoming events.
18.4 Cabinet Meeting: This meeting shall be held on the last Sunday of each month and shall be called by the president and shall plan all the upcoming youth group events.
18.5 Managers’Meeting: This meeting shall be called by the general secretary once a month and shall discuss each group's upcoming activities.
18.6 Representatives’Meeting: This meeting shall be called by the vice president.
SECTION 7. FINANCE
item 19. The youth group's finance shall be funded by their membership fee, donation, fund raising, and aid from the church. Emergency fund can be raised with the approval of the cabinet members and 2/3 of agreeing votes during the next monthly meeting,
item 20. Any youth group's expenses must be approved by the cabinet members. However, exceptions can be granted in case of emergency, but this,too, must receive the post-approval.
SECTION 8. AMENDMENT
item 21. If the youth group wants to amend any of the items in the constitution, it can do so by the approval of 2/3 of attending members during the general election. However, Section 1 cannot be amended.
item 22. Any amended items shall be effective starting current general election and must be reported to the church government.
